Denise's Message

Dear Families,

Wishing all families a very happy holiday break, we look forward to seeing you back at school for Term 3 on MONDAY 10TH JULY.

Student Reports

Families received their children's Semester 1 Reports last Monday. I thank each teacher for the many hours of work they have put into preparing each child's individual report. Each one is a good reflection on their achievements so far this year.

Parent Teacher Interviews

It was wonderful to see so many families speaking with our staff to discuss their child's progress throughout Semester 1. I am sure you spent time with your child celebrating all they have done well and also about their hopes and goals for working on their challenges during Semester 2.

If you were not able to speak to your child's teacher it is important you do so in the first couple of weeks of term 3.

New End of School Day Finishing Time

As explained in a letter I sent out to all families via Operoo last week starting from Term 2 our school day will now end at 3.25pm. This change is due to the working conditions as set out in the new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement for staff working in Catholic schools. This small decrease in time does not impact children's learning time.

Staff will now be on YardDuty until 3.40pm, children not picked up by then will need to go into After School Care. I thank you all for your cooperation in this matter.

Students in Action

Disco

As part of their MKDA learning Valiah, Nina and Chloe organised a Disco for our P-6 children, and what a wonderful time was had by all. The girls needed to follow the Event organisation from the beginning, booking a DJ, organising and selling tickets all the way to counting the money, working out their profit and loss, and seeking feedback from the children about the disco. This was an amazing effort and involved great life-learning skills for each of them.

Mini Vinnies Collection

Our Mini Vinnies team, Ben, Chloe, Marco, Claude, and Jessica, are leading this collection and they are passionate about serving others. I ask you to continue supporting them by donating what you can to support people in our community who are in need.

Casual Clothes Day

Our Social Justice Leaders, Ahana and Valiah, organised our Casual Clothes Day for our last day of school and asked for a gold coin donation. In discussion with school leaders, they have decided to donate the money collected to help support the Mini Vinnies Collection for people in need.

We should all be very proud of these children and the effort they have put in for all of these activities. In raising money they shared their concern for others and wanted to be of service to others in need, something that many adults could learn from. Our future is in good hands when children are showing consideration, care and kindness for others. They are truly living out the Gospel values of Jesus Christ.

More information is available on the student page.
