Welcome to Week 2 of Term 3

The term has started well, and students are doing incredible things not only in schools but also in the community. Our Blue group program is part of a community-based project that is working with different community groups in Horsham to develop their skills, knowledge and communication skills. Thank you to all the organisations for being part of something special with our young people.

The weather is incredibly testing at the moment, and we ask all families to stay warm. If your child becomes unwell due to unforeseen circumstances, can you please let staff know so we can approve absences. This is a time when absences grow out of our control, and we would like to be able to make sure that your young person is ok and that absences can be approved.

We have a number of students exiting school to great outcomes in the community. We would like to thank the following businesses for their support:

  • Johnson and Asahi grains
  • The Royal Hotel
  • Barengi Gadjin
  • Goolum Goolum
  • Subway
  • McDonalds
  • KFC
  • Hungry Jacks

BLUE GROUP

During the last session in Math, Blue students calculated mean, mode, median and range using M & M’s. They also used their ‘Minties’ wrapper to see who could rip and measure the length of each. Pictured is Seth with some of the longest ones.

For PE, Blue students were welcomed to SNAP Fitness by Jacqui who showed them around, how to use equipment and students completed their own individual workouts. Students thoroughly enjoyed the session, they are keen to return and some students are even looking at the Horsham College special membership for use in their free time.
