Foundation Wheelie Day
As part of our Science unit this term on investigating How Things Move, our Foundations brought in their scooters and bicycles in the first week of Term 2. The students were encouraged to take note of how they used their bodies to make their scooters and bicycles move. They were invited to ride around the courts both quickly and slowly. Students developed an awareness that the more energy they used the faster their wheels moved. Thank you God for the good weather and thank you to our parents for helping to organise scooters and bicycles being delivered and then taken home from school. It was a memorable and meaningful start to our Science unit!

Bilby’s and Scholastic Book Club
Our Term 2 Scholastic and Bilby’s Book Club have been distributed over the last 2 weeks. Purchases are to be completed online only. No cash is accepted through the school. Orders are then delivered directly to the school to be distributed to students.
All purchases accrue rewards for the school to use to purchase books and equipment through either Scholastic or Bilby’s.

Online Resources are available for School and Home use by ELC and Junior School students and families. These are available to students to assist with access to stories and information.

Tour our Middle School!
Junior School families are invited to attend a Term 2 or Term 3 Principal's Tour of our Middle and Senior School at South Plympton. All graduating Year 6 students from Brooklyn Park and South Plympton have guaranteed entry into Year 7 in our Middle School.
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet key leadership staff, tour classrooms and facilities, and learn more about all that your child will be able to experience in Middle and Senior
School.

National Walk Safely To School Day
On Friday 26 May, Junior School students from both campuses have the opportunity to participate in National Walk Safely To School Day.
The objectives of WSTSD are:
- To encourage parents and carers to walk to school with primary school aged children and reinforce safe pedestrian behaviour.
- To promote the health benefits of walking and help create regular walking habits at an early age.
- To ensure that children up to 10-years-old hold an adult's hand when crossing the road.
- To help children develop the vital road-crossing skills they will need as they become mature pedestrians.
- To reduce the car dependency habits that are being created at an early age and which will be difficult to change as children become adults.
- To promote the use of public transport.
- To reduce the level of air pollution created by motor vehicles.
- To reduce the level of traffic congestion.
You would have received an Expression of Interest Form via Student Services with the full details of our walk from the respective sites. If you are keen for your children to be involved, please fill out the form by Monday 22 May so that we can ensure correct adult:student ratios for the walk.
Parents are encouraged to walk with their children if they have a Working With Children Check. Teachers will be walking on the day to reinforce safe pedestrian behaviour.
