News and Reminders from your Pastoral Leaders.
- As we move into the 2nd half of the term, many subjects will be coming up to major assessment pieces. Now is a good time as a family to discuss how students are travelling with their studies and reflect on current study habits.
- It has been great to see students taking pride in their appearance and wearing the uniform correctly. We are still seeing some students (boys and girls) wearing the incorrect earrings. Please make sure that it is only one plain gold or silver sleeper or stud in each ear lobe. Necklaces should be silver or gold and of a discreet nature. Pearl or fabric (rope) necklaces are not permitted.
- Unfortunately, we are experiencing a high level of vandalism within our college facilities. We are implementing extra staffing and procedures to ensure a high standards of safety and cleanliness are maintained within our college. Please report any concerning behaviour or vandalism to staff.
- Early Leave Procedure – If your child is to leave school early for any reason please provide the office with adequate advanced notice (either early morning or the day before) by email, parent portal, phone call or note. Please advise date, time to leave, reason and pickup location. Students must always sign out at the Front Office before leaving school grounds.

Year 7
- On Tuesday the 30th May. Year 7 Students will be participating in the ‘Step Up - UPP’ workshop. The workshop provides young learners with the knowledge and skills to develop a growth mindset. The workshop will run for the entire school day and students are required to wear house uniforms for the event. Students are to attend PG for roll marking prior to the workshop.
- There has been a significant increase in the diary usage of the grade 7 cohort recently which is excellent to see. Students should be presenting their diaries to parents for review and monitoring each week.
- Congratulations and best of luck to all members of the Bill Turner Soccer team who will be playing CSHS in the regional final.

Year 8
- Preparation is paramount to success and it is College expectation that all students arrive to class with the necessary equipment. One piece that seems to be getting forgotten with increasing frequency is laptop chargers. Students are reminded that failing to bring a charger means that they are unprepared for class.
- As assessment season approaches it is important to remember that effort is everything. Don’t wait to seek assistance, now is the time to be proactive and have conversations with your teacher regarding additional support leading into exams.
- Congratulations and best of luck to all members of the Bill Turner Soccer team who will be playing CSHS in the regional final.

Year 12
- It has been a pleasure stepping into the role of Head of Year 12 while Mr Vollugi is on leave, and I am already enjoying working with a great group of young adults. I spoke to students about how little class time is remaining so we should be working together to finish on a positive note. That means making good choices or being prepared to accept consequences for not so good choices.
- Best wishes to those involved in the Worry Warts production coming up in week 7 - I’m sure it will be a wonderful show.
- Athletics carnival events will continue on Wednesday during sport, house shirts are to be worn.
- For those who are beginning to feel a little overwhelmed, there is plenty of support available. Please see me so that we can arrange something or someone to assist you.
- Uniform - Congratulations to the many students who consistently wear their uniforms well and with pride. A reminder with jewellery - one pair of earrings that is to be either silver or gold (no pearls/diamantes, etc) worn in the lobe; 1 silver or gold simple necklace, ring and/or bracelet.
- Students are reminded to check the assessment planner and be sure they are managing their time wisely with regard to assessment due dates.
