What’s Happening in Careers?
Year 10
The boys heard from Religious Education and HASS about the courses on offer in these areas. There are some exciting new courses for the boys to choose from next year – ATAR Politics and Law, General Modern History, General Business and Enterprise and General Geography – as well as the existing courses. Have a conversation with your boys about what they are thinking about these options! The powerpoints for these presentations will be sent out so parents can keep up to date with the information that the boys are receiving.
Year 11
The Year 11 University bound students researched the courses they might consider at University and developed a Pathway Plan with an ‘Option A’ and ‘Option B’. They learnt about course switching and how to consider this as a pathway if required. Ask your boys what their options are at the moment and see how they are tracking towards these goals.
The General cohort had a session with Mrs Johnson to discuss the upcoming workplace learning.
Year 12
The first exams are imminent for the University group, so it is important that they are focused on achieving their best possible results to keep them on track for their required ATAR. They should also have logged into TISC so that they can set up preferences. These can be changed as many times as they like.
Good luck also to the General boys heading out to workplaces in the next two weeks. They always represent themselves well and should make the most of the opportunities to learn about the industry and form connections.
