Round Nine Winners

Round nine had some good games of footy with a couple of upsets. We had three people who did very well in picking eight winners, with a further 35 people who largely picked the favourites getting seven winners. Of those that picked eight, Michael McAllister (Class of 1983) was closest to the margin in Richmond’s upset win over Geelong and as such is this week’s winner of the $50. Congratulations Michael on your second win for the year, having won the round prize back in round four.

With regards to the overall leader board, Brady Rafferty (Class of 2021) has re-established a two game lead and is on 61, there are four people on 59 and a further three people on 58.

Round Ten

Round 10 starts Friday with Port Adelaide v Melbourne – Both sides are in very good form.  Melbourne has won the last two games played between these sides at the Adelaide Oval. Tough one to pick;

North Melbourne v Sydney – Both sides are in very poor form, but surely Sydney will win;

Western Bulldogs v Adelaide – Another interesting game and is being played in Ballarat.  Can Adelaide be competitive away from home? Certainly they have a chance to win this and establish themselves as a genuine top 8 contender;

Fremantle v Geelong – Geelong will start favourites despite their unexpected loss to Richmond but Fremantle know that a win here really puts their season back on track;

Brisbane v Gold Coast – The Q clash.  While the Gold Coast has won three of its last four games they will still be underdogs in this one;

Essendon v Richmond – Twilight at the G.  Even though Essendon has lost its last four games their supporters would still fancy their chances against Richmond, who up until they beat Geelong, had looked a spent force;

Hawthorn v West Coast – 18th v 17th – a game not to be missed.  This will be played in Tasmania, can’t imagine many people showing up;

Carlton v Collingwood – This game should attract a crowd of over 80,000 but it would be brave to pick anything other than a Collingwood win although Carlton should have a red hot crack; and

GWS v St Kilda – GWS sit 15th and have lost three of its last four games.  St Kilda sit fifth and if they really are a top eight side then they should win this, I’m just not so sure.

Good luck and thanks for the support!
