Careers News
Term 2 is a very busy term when it comes to careers here at St Joseph's College!
Students have been participating in many varied activities to support their future pathways.
Year 9 Semester 1 Career / Personal Best classes have worked hard on their resumes and will participate in the Beacon Mock Interviews next week. Students have also participated in a Beacon Interview Tech Session, this allows students to understand how to best present and be prepared for a job interview.
Last week, our Year 10 students participated in the Beacon Careers Expo at Rich River Golf Club.
The Expo showcased the many and varied career opportunities available to students in the local area. During the event students completed four workshops of their choice, in four different areas.
We are very grateful to the Echuca Moama local businesses who gave up their time to engage with our students about potential career pathways. We would like to thank Beacon Foundation for their organisation of this event and for providing such a wonderful opportunity for our students. A big thank you also to the 2023 Beacon Leaders who hosted the event and did an amazing job!
Year 10 students are also in the process of organising their Work Experience for the week commencing 19 June. We look forward to seeing where they spend their time. At the commencement of Term 3 Year 10 students will be attending Careers Camp in Melbourne. These opportunities are very important for students in supporting their pathway choices.
Year 12 students recently attended the VCE Careers Expo at Caulfield Race Course. All the universities were in attendance and students were given an opportunity to find out about courses, scholarships and accommodation.
