Wellbeing Update

This week we have much to celebrate in the area of Wellbeing here at SKiPPS. In this update you will hear all about the various programs and initiatives that have benefited our school community over the past couple of weeks and a new pilot program we will be trialling this year.

Sexuality Education

Over the past two weeks, class teachers have been running the Sexuality Education program in classrooms throughout the school , from Foundation to Year 6. Students have been engaged in age-appropriate learning about their bodies and body safety, about how their bodies change as they grow, gender and sexuality and reproduction.

Play Leaders Update

Over the past two weeks, the Play Leaders program has attracted more students than ever; with huge numbers of Yr 3&4 students in attendance last Thursday!

The student leaders are constantly reflecting on what works well and sharing ideas on how to make the sessions as engaging as possible.

Each session, leaders are looking out for students who are demonstrating the school values and they award certificates at assembly on a Friday morning.

Pivot Wellbeing for Learning Platform

Research has shown a correlation between wellbeing, mental health, social and emotional skills and academic learning for students.

This year, the Wellbeing team will be trialling the use of a survey tool within various classes throughout the school, to measure, track and support student wellbeing.

Please see the infographic for more information about how the Wellbeing Tool works.
