House Cross Country

House Cross Country- Gold House Wins 

On Tuesday 2nd May, in extremely mixed weather conditions all children at WEPS participated in the House Cross Country. Most students came to school dressed in their house colours, excited and ready to run. 

The students that competed on the day displayed outstanding grit, determination and a have a go attitude to complete their course. 

We would like to thank the many parents, grandparents and friends who came to support the students. It created a great atmosphere which was greatly appreciated.

Sportspersonship and being active were high priorities and were clearly evident throughout the day. Well done to all students. 

In a very close finish Gold House won this year’s trophy averaging 5.19 per student. They beat Red House 5.15. In third place was Blue House just pipping Green House who finished in fourth place. 

A big thank you to Jimmy for preparing the track. His mowing of the track made it look amazing for the day. A huge thanks to the team (Isaac, Nadine, Bree, Ellie and Naomi) were great assistants before, during and after the event. Working hard on the finish line, presenting and tallying up scores. They assisted with the administration work before the event and acting as marshals during the day. 

Many thanks to W.E.P.S. staff for acting as marshals on the day, all the House Captains for helping throughout the day and providing track support. You were simply outstanding.

From our cross country, a team of 36 runners from years 3-6 were chosen to compete in the Warrnambool Division Cross Country held at Walter Oval on Friday 12th May.

Congratulations to all our winners and place getters and to all the children for their efforts on the day.
