Human Movement & Sports Science

On Wednesday 24th May our Year 10 Human Movement and Sports Science, and Year 10 Fitness Training classes, visited Aquamoves. During the visit, each class participated in a dynamic fitness class designed to enhance their understanding of human movement, physical fitness, and the importance of leading an active lifestyle. The two classes participated in:

Body Pump: This high-energy class combines strength training exercises using barbells and adjustable weights. Led by an experienced instructor, students learnt proper lifting techniques, muscular endurance and overall body conditioning. Students experienced a great way to build strength and tone muscles while improving cardiovascular fitness.

Circuit Training: This class involved a series of stations where students engaged in various exercises targeting different muscle groups. Circuit training is an excellent way to improve overall fitness, as it incorporates elements of cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance training. Students were guided through the circuit by a certified trainer, ensuring safety and proper form throughout the session.

Students, although a little puffed out at the end, enjoyed the experience as they gained a practical insight into human movement and fitness training, which aligns with the content of the theory classes they have been conducting at school.
