Student Wellbeing

Breakfast Club is Coming Back! Every Day!

A healthy start to the school day

School Breakfast Clubs provide a warm and welcoming space for students when they arrive at school.

Volunteers and staff help set up their Breakfast Club space and provide students with a variety of healthy, Victorian grown or manufactured breakfast foods. These include oats, muesli, Vita Brits, wholegrain Cheerios, milk, baked beans, canned fruit, fruit cups, fresh apples, Vegemite and honey.

In addition to removing the barrier to learning when a child is hungry, creating a safe and social Breakfast Club environment for students is having other benefits too. Positive relationships are being built between peers, staff and volunteers. Most schools use their Breakfast Clubs for informal learning around nutrition, table manners and other life skills. Many schools foster student leadership through roles at their Breakfast Club. And some schools report improved punctuality and attendance as a result of having a Breakfast Club.

We are looking forward to having some new volunteers from Rotary come and help out next term!

See you then.
