Kindergarten

Kindergarten is the foundation of supporting students' emotional, spiritual, social and educational well-being.  The past couple of weeks has seen us re-introducing routine and familiar settings to enhance learning. 

InitiaLit is a research-based, user-friendly Literacy program, from the MultiLit Group, that St Joseph's School has implemented over the past few years with great success.  It consists of highly structured lessons that promote consistency in learning letters and sounds, moving onto words, sentences and writing.  The combination of activities instructs students on how to form sounds verbally and in written form.

This Literacy Program can be further supported with InitiaLit readers for Reading Groups and homework, together with accompanying activities that can be used throughout the school day to reinforce concepts.

Kindergarten are beginning to work independently in small groups and are loving the Guided Groups sessions with Mrs Rheinberger. We love to learn in Kindergarten and have lots of fun!
