Primary Sub School News

Here we are in Week 10!!!

Students develop their personal and social capabilities whilst working cooperatively together in the classroom and during group games in the playground. The personal and social capability area of the curriculum promotes the development of a range of important skills and understandings including recognising and regulating emotions, developing empathy for others, establishing and building positive relationships, making responsible decisions and handling challenges.

The recent beautiful sunny days have provided the perfect environment for our students to enjoy active play and plenty of exercise outdoors with their friends and work on these beneficial personal and social skills.

Middle Years Sub School News

This term, we have been publishing our stories. This week, we had an amazing Room 11 Story Writing Book Launch.

We worked together to share our ideas to work in small groups with staff to design fun stories to share with their peers in the Primary Sub School.

These stories are both fun and colourful to read. I really think that other kids will find them great to read.

We enjoyed reading our stories with Dan when he visited. He even gave us PBS tickets each for doing this

Secondary Sub School News

The past two weeks in the Secondary Sub School has seen some students being given more agency over their learning. As our staff have built trusting and respectful relationships, we are encouraging our students to express themselves more regularly. This can be facilitated in Art sessions , where they can select materials and themes, as well as during our emerging Coffee cart program. We continue to focus on the individual communication needs of our students so we can support them to have engaging programs at JSA.
