New Building Progress
The new building is progressing but finalising the details in any building takes time. An inspection last week identified areas that will take more time to complete. The handover date has been extend out to the 26th June to coincide with the inspection date for the fire services upgrade. What we have seen so far is pleasing.
We have ordered tubs for staff who will be moving into the new buildings to pack and when the move happens the tubs will fit straight into the cupboards without any need to unpack.
We have requested some things items that were not included in original plan. These will either enhance the safety for the students e.g. balustrades on the walkways or improving the environment e.g. artificial turf surrounding the building. Some of these works will be completed during the school holidays but some may not be completed until the first weeks of next term.
New fencing has started to be installed so some of the temporary fencing may be removed soon. Furniture for the new building has arrived so we are patiently waiting until we can install in the classrooms.
We hope to move into the new building early in term3.
Holiday works
During the holidays playground 4 and 5 will be serviced or groomed - artificial grass will "combed" and "fluffed" and the sand will be spread evenly.
During the term we have had some water leaks. The external roofs have been repaired but some cosmetic reinstatement of the ceilings will be completed while the school is empty.
