Flexible and Remote Learning Survey Results

The Reading and Student Voice and Agency School Improvement Teams (SIT) developed a Flexible and Remote Learning (F&RL) survey for JSA staff, to capture the key experiences of our school community during this pandemic period.

  • 85.71% of teachers felt that F&RL Guidelines, Protocols and Procedures were adequate for them to continue their teaching in Term 2.
  • 92.86% of teachers felt that the school provided them with timely updates from DET about F&RL.
  • 82.14% of teachers gave feedback to students and families about students learning progress.
  • 86.21% of teachers felt proud of the learning and progress their students demonstrated during F&RL.
  • 96.77% of ES Staff were able to make frequent communication with classroom teacher/s.
  • 93.55% of ES Staff felt proud of the learning and progress that their students demonstrated during F&RL.

The significant results from the data suggests that DET and JSA processes and procedures implemented during Remote Learning, supported student engagement and well-being, which in turn promoted effective teaching and learning practices to take place.

The results from the data will be used by the SIT, to evaluate and diagnose how our effective protocols and procedures during Remote Learning can inform onsite teaching practices  for the future.

Term 3 Curriculum Plan

In Term 3, JSA will be explicitly teaching the following topics for each Curriculum Learning Area:

Humanities: History- Today, Tomorrow & Yesterday

Science: Day & Night

Health & P.E: The Great Outdoors

The Arts: Dance & Drama

Teachers will continue to align students Personalised Learning Support Plan goals and levels to each Learning Area of the Curriculum. Individualsied resources and activities will develop the knowledge and skills for all students to engage and demonstrate their learning.

Professional Learning Communities (PLC)

Professional learning community (PLC) schools start from a simple idea: students learn more when their teachers work together.

Teachers have continued to work collaboratively within their sub-schools to focus on improving student outcomes in Reading & Viewing and promoting student voice and agency during Flexible and Remote Learning this term. With the support of PLC Instructional Leaders leading the teams, teachers have focused on continuous improvement by linking the specific learning needs of students; focusing on Persoanlised Learning Support goals to professional learning and practice of teachers.

Teacher teams have been providing 'Warm and Cool' feedback using data, to evaluate, plan and monitor high-impact teaching strategies that will explicitly teach and improve student outcomes.
