Return to School Plan Phase 2
Next Tuesday we will welcome back our Year 3-6 children as they return to school after an extensive 'learning from home' period.
We will be certainly glad to have them back onsite and I know their teachers are excited to be reunited with their children on a 'face -to-face' basis and really get stuck into an intensive few weeks of teaching before the term break.
If you haven't already, please check uniform requirements (an order form is detailed below) and promptly organise any new requirements.
A few reminders....
1. Each child MUST have his/her own water bottle. They can use the classroom taps to re-fill when necessary. Please make sure these are labelled.
2. Over the next few weeks there will be some timetable changes to accommodate extensive year level planning sessions for Term 3. Students are to wear their full WINTER school uniform yet still wear their SPORTS uniform on days where they are scheduled for Physical Education as follows:
Year Prep: Wednesday and Thursday
Year 1/2Z Monday and Tuesday
Year 1/2 B: Tuesday and Wednesday
Year 1/2C: Tuesday and Wednesday
Year 3/4: Monday and Tuesday
Year 5/6: Thursday and Friday
School 'Drop Offs and Pick Ups'
Thank you to all families who have respected the necessary procedures in place for 'drop offs' and 'pick ups' to date. Next week as our Year 3-6 students return we still wish to keep the calm and respectable nature that has been in place to date. So... the processes are as follows:
Morning Drop Off
To stagger the morning 'drop off', children can be dropped off from 8:30am (as usual), however parents are not permitted past the front office gate or the Library at the back entrance. Please observe the 'Stop, Kiss and Drop' signs at each entrance to remind families.
PLEASE BE ON TIME FOR SCHOOL!
Afternoon Pick-Up
Afternoon 'pick-up' is a little different. I am very conscious of the amount of roadworks around the school at present so in the interest and safety of all, the following process will continue to occur.
If necessary parents may enter the site to collect children. Gates will open around 3:25pm. Children will be brought to the central courtyard where parents can collect their child and leave promptly. Please avoid multiple members of families coming onsite to collect children and please DO NOT GATHER AROUND CLASSROOM DOORWAYS .
Alternatively children can move independently to regular collection points (front office or back gate) where teachers will be on yard duty. Most older children will do this automatically.
These procedures are currently working very well. We really want to avoid staggered 'drop offs' and 'pick ups' so your continued co-operation is essential.
Prep Enrolments 2021
During the current climate we have needed to take alternative and creative actions to ensure our enrolment process remains accessible to all.
Our virtual tour and enrolment videos have been distributed to the wider community and are generating many inquiries. However, our data suggests that 'Word of Mouth' continues to be the most successful means of promotion. Every family I have talked to have sought recommendation from current families or those within the community before making contact with me. So, thank you to all for the support of our beautiful school and please keep spreading the word to all who are now looking for schooling for 2021.
By the way.... If you have a child starting Prep next year and you haven't yet submitted your form please do so ASAP as places are filling fast.
Enrolment forms are available on our website or via the link below. They can be mailed, dropped off or emailed.
Return of Devices
As all of our children return to school can I please ask that borrowed Chrome Books are also returned. Please make sure they are returned to the front office (not the classroom) so that they can be 'checked off'.
ABC Music
Our ABC Guitar and Keyboard Program will recommence on Wednesday 10th June and will continue every Monday and Wednesday thereafter.
Assemblies
We will continue to run our successful e-Assemblies until further notice so hope to see you all again next Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend!
God Bless
