Years Five/Six News

The senior students have embraced their online learning program and have become experts in uploading completed tasks to the Showbie platform to receive feedback from their teacher.

They have been practicing ‘tracking their thinking’ whilst reading, summarising what they have read and completed book reviews and recommendations on their chosen texts. In writing we have focused on explanations and have revised the features of narratives. Students have been encouraged to think about a story they would like to write for the upcoming Writer’s Festival.

In maths students have been learning about probability and angles. A highlight for many students has been developing the ability to measure angles accurately using a protractor.

Students have begun to investigate Australia’s early history as a precursor to learning about our system of government.
