Year 12 Snow Trip

From the 12-14th August the VCE units 3 and 4 ODE students completed their last official school camp. They travelled to Mt Buller in the Alpine National Park to participate in 2 days of downhill skiing.  Over 50% of the students had never seen or felt snow before let alone attempted downhill snow sports, therefore the pain from numerous falls, icy conditions and snow storms were masked by beautiful views, smiling kids and an unknown landscape ready to be explored. Well done to all the students involved and best of luck on your upcoming VCE exam.

Year 11 Murray River Canoe Trip

From the 11-14th September, the VCE units 1 and 2 ODE students took on arguably their toughest camp yet. Starting at Picnic Point campground in NSW, students then proceeded to travel down the Murray River by canoe, finishing at the Port of Echuca. Whilst carrying all of their gear, the students were required to paddle 80km+ across 3 days, camping on the riverbanks and enjoying the remoteness of the Barmah National and State Parks. Understandably, all students were weary by the last day, however all should be commended for their attitude on the water and their persistence to completing the paddle. With the lack of wind combined with the warm spring weather, the picturesque trip was a fantastic way to introduce our students to the uniqueness of the Australian Bushland.
