2017 Opening Service

We officially began the 2017 school year at our Opening Service on Monday 6 February.  We were joined by our partners in education: the Lutheran Schools Association, represented by Director, Mr John Proeve; Connected Schools, with the principal and School Captain representatives from Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Golden Grove Lutheran Primary and St Paul Lutheran School.  We were also honoured to have Pamela Lockyer representing Mr Tony Zappia and the pastors of our supporting congregations attending the service.

College Pastor, Dale Gosden led us in worship and installed fifteen new staff, the College Captains, together with Village and Extra-Curricular Leaders and the Student Representative Council for 2017. It was also occasion to give thanks, celebrate and introduce new initiatives and facilities for the year.  Mr John Proeve presented awards in recognition of service to Lutheran Education including: David Thiele for thirty years of service; and Frances Brussow, Ben Crook, Lisa Durbridge, Paul Hackett, Steven Liebelt, Martin Meinel, Karen Miles and Suz Brook for ten years of service. College Council Chair, Dr Merryn Ruwoldt also recognized Frances Brussow, Ben Crook, Lisa Durbridge, Paul Hackett, Steven Liebelt, Martin Meinel, Karen Miles and Darren Willsmore for their ten years of service to Endeavour College.  We are proud and grateful for the contributions these people have given to Lutheran Education and our Endeavour community.

The 2016 College Dux, awarded to the Year 12 student who achieved the highest ATAR score was presented to Mohammad Danish Mangi  by old scholar Zane Kirkwood. Zane also shared words of inspiration to students as they began a new year.

Zane Kirkwood attended Endeavour College until 2008.  Throughout this time he excelled at sports and in Physical Education.  After graduating Zane worked for Port Adelaide Football Club, for a roofing company and most recently the police force.  While in these occupations, Zane continued to work at achieving his dream of playing elite football.  In 2014 and 2016 he was awarded the Magarey Medal, the highest honour possible for players in the SANFL.  In 2014 Zane also won the Fos Williams Medal and P.T. Morton Medal for his skills both as team member and player.

2016 Merit and A+ students were also recognised for their achievements.
