Acknowledgment of Country

Here is our new school acknowledgment of country. It was created by our students with support from Sonya Hunt. We have had it translated into Spanish. A copy is on display in each classroom and it is shared in each class at the start of the day.

Here is the land.

Here is the sky.

Here are my friends and here am I.

We learn at Newlands Primary School, on the traditional land of the Wurundjeri people.

We walk hand in hand.

We would like to say thank you for letting us share the land that you love,

we promise to take care of it.

We want to pay respects to our Elders, past and present and future.
