Trivia Evening

OPA ! What a night ! A night in Mykonos Trivia night was certainly a night to remember. It brought our community together with laughter and fun, new friendships were made and old rekindled! St Bede’s community is certainly one social and talkative bunch! You were transported to Greece as soon as you walked into the hall foyer - the smell of the gyro in the air ( the SOUVAMAN) , the OPA sign filled with balloons , the memes of Greek antics and the vines on the ceiling .  Upon entering the taverna , the hall ceiling was adorned with vines and hanging baskets filled with bougainvillea (a symbol of Mykonos  festoon lights  and your eyes were immediately fixated on the lit up stage with the beautiful Mykonos backdrop. This was complimented by the various images on the wall kindly donated by Graffico.  You definitely  had the feeling of eating your souvlakia at a tavern in Mykonos! The trivia night began with lots of laughter, and answer shouting . The host had to quieten the crowd to listen to him - making us all giggle and thinking - imagine what the teachers go through with all our children! Our fabulous MC Tony E (George’s Dad- prep) kept the laughter and entertainment going  throughout the night and we don’t think we’ve ever seen such a fast and fun live auction in a long time! (We did giggle post event when a parent mentioned they just lifted their hand up to be part of the action ) !

What an amazing live auction it was - prizes from Peter Jackson , Catalano interiors , Victoria Dermal Group, Ferrari , Prompt Care , Scopri and VIP tickets to WOG BOY 3 screening! No wonder people battled it out! Add to this, the vast selection of silent auction items , amazing hampers for our raffles and the hilarious heads and tails games which saw some of our wonderful parents battle on stage for the winning prize! All these auctions and raffles, inconjunction with your generosity , the night raised just over

$18,000!  This went above and beyond our 10K goal !

An amazing result which will be a fabulous kick start to the sandpit area redevelopment!

Thank you to all our sponsors for their donated gifts , families who donated prizes and all those who donated their time for set up ! These events really show the St. Bede's community spirit, the  support and love for our beloved school. Of course, the winning table were the teachers - with a close second from Santorini table ! A rematch perhaps next year ???   THANK YOU ALL for your support and let’s keep this community spirit alive!
