First XI Cricket

In the first game back in Term 4, Blackfriars were up against Pembroke School. Blackfriars bowled first and started the game strongly having Pembroke 2/13 after two overs which included a direct hit run out from Spencer. Bowling changes were made with Riley and Barrington coming on and bowling accurately. An excellent catch from Criscitelli had Pembroke at 5/62 after 14 overs. Pembroke were all bowled out for 126 with Barrington finishing with 3/15 and Spencer, Ralph and Riley claiming two wickets each. Blackfriars were under pressure with the loss of a very early wicket. Riley came in and put on an outstanding display of batting to finish unbeaten on 62 which included 11 boundaries. Riley and Kane Flanagan (22) combined for a well-deserved 54 run third wicket partnership. Blackfriars reached the target in 25 overs finishing on 4/128 winning the match by six wickets.
