Musical Notes

As we come to the final term of the year we look forward to many celebrations including farewelling our Year 12 students, Fairs, Community Days and Final Performances.

Academic Assembly

On Friday 27 October, Stage Band 1 supported the formal proceedings of the Academic Assembly at Bonython Hall. I would like to sincerely thank all of the members of the ensemble for their time, professionalism in playing and also their dedication. Thank you also to Mr Charli Holoubek for directing the band.

Prospect Fair and St Dominic’s Fete

On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 a variety of ensembles will perform at the Prospect Fair and St Dominic’s Fete. These included Stage Band 1, Concert Band 1, Stage Band 2, Big Band Theory and the Sound Benders. I’d like to acknowledge the work of all of the students in representing Blackfriars and also to Charli and Marie for directing their ensembles.

A Boutique Life

As advertised on SEQTA, on Sunday 19 November Blackfriars is hosting “A Boutique Life”. Students have been asked to mark their names on a running sheet if they wish to perform in a “busking” type atmosphere on the day.

This week we celebrated the achievements of our students with a co-curricular lunch which was enjoyed by all and I would like to thank all parents for their support of all outside of hours events.
