Curriculum Day
On Friday, 10 August 2018 the staff participated in an engaging and informative Curriculum day focusing on Student Wellbeing. The day was entitled ‘Soothe your soul’ and focused on the following well being initiatives.
Staff Well being, with time for reflection, positive self affirmation, relaxation and meditation.
Our school priorities relating to our AIP, including our Vision, Mission and values.
Student Wellbeing Frameworks including School wide Positive Behaviour Support, Zones of Regulation and Kidsmatter.
The student wellbeing team are currently working on developing an SWPBS (School wide positive behaviour support) action plan, including positive behaviour matrix for students at our school.
In term 4 there will be a regular Kidsmatter spot in our iNewsletter which will include parent training sessions for Zones of regulation and Positive behaviour support workshops for families to attend.
Nude Food
Congratulations to 1C – all students had Nude Food on Tuesday!
Nude Food is a fantastic opportunity to educate children about how
their actions can impact the environment and their health.
Focussing on the positive message of ‘nude food = a healthy
body + a healthy planet’, we want our students at CSPS to be
empowered to choose healthy, rubbish free food for their lunches
and snacks.
eSmart
Our school ICT mission statement is ' ICT will be a fundamental element of teaching and learning at Cranbourne South Primary. Through the use of a collaborative platform students and teachers will be equipped with the skills and technology to be confident users of ICT, transform and improve their learning outcomes and engage safely and positively with the broader school community.'
The following link is a very valuable resource for parents/carers to use regarding the safe and responsible use of technology by students. Please take the time to have a look.

National eSmart Week
Monday 3rd - Friday 7th September 2018
eSmart week gives you the opportunity to share your knowledge and celebrate your work around being smart, safe and responsible when using digital technology.
Cool Maths site blocked
It has come to our attention that the “coolmaths games” website has been blocked globally by DET, for breaking all three rules: inappropriate advertisements, content and games.
We have therefore blocked Cool Maths Games usage at CSPS and ask for families to be aware of such content in the home.
No Hat No Play
As of Monday 27th August 2018 the No Hat No Play rule will apply. Students will be required to wear a hat whilst outside eg. yard play, physical vibe and school excursions. If a child is not wearing a hat they will be required to be in an undercover area.
Sun Smart
Although this winter is still a bit up and down with some nice hints of spring to come, the UV levels are on the rise with sun protection times already being forecast.
Sun protection is recommended whenever UV levels are three or higher. Average UV levels in Victoria are three or higher from mid-August so it's time to dust off the sun protection gear and not wait until term four.
