HARRY POTTER

Yes, we have the latest Harry Potter, and yes it is out on loan.  (People who read it say it’s good too!) Please log in to Oliver to reserve it. There is a help sheet link on the Oliver homepage that shows you how to reserve a book.

PRACTICE EXAMS

Term 3 is when VCE students start to focus on exams. The library has A+ practice exams for Psychology, Specialist Maths, Physics, Mathematical Methods, Legal Studies, Further Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Health and Human Development. The exam books come with solution CDs. They can be found in the overnight loan section. To preview these books go to:

STUDENT GUIDE: YOUR SURVIVAL GUIDE TO LIFE BEYOND SCHOOL

It’s never too early to think about life after school and to help students there are four copies of this survival guide in the library. Chapter headings include: Finding your dream job, Understanding study in Australia, Choosing where to study, Changing your course prejudices, Getting ready for life beyond school and Acing your exams.  This book is a must read for Year 10, 11 & 12 students!

NEW SERIES

Having difficulty finding a new book to read? Find a series to read! Some great series include: Harry Potter (of course!), Hunger Games, a Series of Unfortunate events, I am no 4, Conspiracy 365, the Maze runner, The last 13, etc.  There is a separate “series” search field on our catalogue to help you find all the books in a series.

MINECRAFT

The library has several books on this popular (and educational!) game.  To find them search the catalogue using the term “minecraft”.

BOOKWEEK

Reading is an important skill especially for students wishing to contiue to university.  To promote reading the 20th – 26th August is Bookweek. This year’s theme: Australia! Story Country. To help get students in the mood there will be author talks for Year 7s and 8s.
