Textiles

What is the subject about?

Students will develop an understanding of the use of the sewing machine, basic construction and enhancement techniques to make textile projects. They will look at fashion design, elements used in textiles as well as fabric and fibre properties. Students will develop skills in the manipulation and use of a range of textile materials, equipment and techniques.

Skills you will develop

• Understand and apply the product design process.
• Use materials, tools and processes to assemble your own design. 
• Apply learnt knowledge of different fabrics and fibres.
• A novice level over a range of different textile crafts
