Mater Dei Spring Carnival

Spring has returned in grand faux fashion this year. We all welcomed back the chance to dress up together and cheer on the House races in what is now known as the Mater Dei Spring Carnival

Students paraded silly suits and dresses during the recess fashions on the fields. The number of entrants was groundbreaking as the best of the worst put their zaniest high heels forward. The crowds were bemused at the wonders. Later at lunch the students cheered on their senior jockeys galloping around the courtyard in the Glanville Plate and Myer’s Cup Races.

House jockeys were quick to quick to navigate through the obstacles, but in the end it was Sherrin’s Goldilocks and Rosarie’s Ferrari Rage for their respective wins.  It was a  great day to welcome back one of our traditional days of community celebration. All hail Spring!

Take Charge Youth Leadership Forum

A group of Year 10 students recently took part in the 2022 REROC Take Charge Youth Leadership Forum. This was a platform for students to hear about ways they can have a stronger voice in society and take on leadership roles. Keynote speaker of the day was the Hon. Ben Franklin, NSW Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Minister for the Arts, Minister for Tourism and Minister for Regional Youth. All students had a great day participating in a range of capacity building workshops.
