From the Principal's Desk

What a fantastic week I had last week!

I had the pleasure of taking our Stage 3 students to the Coffs Coast Adventure Centre last week and again I am constantly amazed at how beautifully behaved our students are whilst constantly showing respect and responsibility, particularly in a strange context away from our mums and dads.  I loved seeing our students overcome personal barriers and use positive habits of the mind to ensure they had the best time possible.  I am sure you will enjoy their recounts of activities.  My personal favourite was watching the face plants into the mud!

SASS Recognition Week

This week is SASS recognition week.  The teaching staff and students would like to thank our SASS staff, Dawn, Leanne, Kim, Edie and Chris for all that they do around our school to make it function so effectively and positively.  We would be lost without you.  Thank you.

Northwest Athletics Carnival

On Friday, we had a number of students participate in various events at the Northwest athletics carnival in Tamworth under wet and freezing conditions.  They all went extremely well and can be congratulated on their sportsmanship.  Congratulations to Nixon Kennedy and Archie Cooper on their selection to the PSSA State Championship.

Tell Them From Me Survey

Over the next few weeks we will be running the Tell Them From Me Surveys.  The Tell Them From Me surveys provide schools with student, teacher and parent perspectives about the engagement and wellbeing of their students.  This information is valuable to schools and can be used to identify strengths and successes, as well as areas to target for improvement.  Student surveys will be carried out at school.

Information about the surveys and opt-out consent forms are provided in 22 community languages using the following link https://education.nsw.gov.au/student-wellbeing/tell-them-from-me/information-for-parents-and-carers/your-childs-participation

Parent survey

The Partners in Learning parent survey is part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys on student engagement and wellbeing. The parent survey helps to clarify and strengthen the important relationship between parent and school. Participation in the parent survey is optional. We encourage as many parents as we can to participate to help us build a robust dataset to ensure we are doing our best to support the Martin’s Gully school community.
