Literacy Week & The Great Book Swap

Nici Fausten

It was wonderful to be back together on site celebrating Book Week 2022!

On Friday 26/8 students took part in the Great Book Swap to support the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The Swap is an act of kindness that helps support First Nations children. Children were invited to bring a book from home that they were happy to donate to 'the swap'  and then participated in a lucky dip/book swap.  As part of our whole school Sustainable Design Inquiry topic for Term 3 and its focus on empathy we created recycled wrapping paper and 'kindness' bookmarks for one another.  After 'dipping and unwrapping' we had the opportunity to swap our books with a classmate and read together.
