Student of the Week Awards Presented 19/8/22

Charlotte A. - 00L

This award goes to Charlotte for her wonderful effort in her our Reading sessions. She has been practising the strategy of cross checking by looking closely at words and pictures in her book to solve words. Charlotte has also been rereading her books to build on her fluency. Keep up the amazing effort Charlotte. You are a Scoresby Superstar!

Jordan A. - 1/2D

Congratulations to Jordan for being a Scoresby Superstar in class this week! Jordan has demonstrated great mathematician skills during our fractions unit, where he has been able to identify a half, quarter, or eighth that have been shown in different ways. Jordan has been able to take a step further by sharing his thinking about how he knows something is representing that fraction. Jordan, keep up the wonderful work – you’re amazing!

Alyrah W. - 1/2G

This award goes to Alyrah for her efforts this week in reading and writing. Alyrah has been working on sounding out letters and working independently to create sentences. She has been persistent and has had a wonderful attitude towards her learning, which I am extremely proud of. A shining star never gets lost in the dark, keep up the great work Alyrah!

Frank W. - 1/2K

This award goes to Frank for the persistence he is displaying in his writing. Frank has been taking responsible risks and putting pencil to paper more often. He is noticing words around the room and using them in his writing. He is also making an effort to use the lines and write his letters the correct size. Nice work Frank! We are very proud of you.

Mahi P. - 3/4B

This award goes to Mahi for her amazing results in mathematics. She worked wonderfully in her PONT maths group to learn and practise different multiplication and division strategies. As a result, Mahi has shown fantastic growth in her test results. I am so proud of your effort. Keep up the great work!

Rohaan M. - 3/4K

This award goes to Rohaan for the fantastic “Show don’t tell” writing that he did this week. Rohaan was able to carefully choose his vocabulary to help his reader visualise his setting without telling them where it is. Great work Rohaan. 

Lucy E. - 3/4S

This award is presented to Lucy for the amazing effort she is putting into learning her basic maths facts. Lucy is practising hard and is becoming more confident in her ability and this is helping her in all of her maths work. Keep up the great work, Lucy.

Alex M. - 5/6F

This award goes to Alex for displaying the Scoresby HEART value of Excellence. During Integrated Studies he has displayed a passion for his learning through researching the 2011 Tsumani and even took the initiative of continuing his research at home. In addition, Alex enthusiastically published his rap poem, Go Karting in a creative and visually appealing way this week. He should be very proud of his achievements!

Lachlan Z.- 5/6M

This award is presented to Lachlan for his ongoing dedication to his learning. Lachlan has a great amount of general knowledge to contribute to class discussions and the students are always interested in what he has to say. Keep up all the great work you are doing Lachlan and I look forward to continuing our learning journey together.

Aisy S. - 5/6W

This award goes to Aisy for his hardworking and persistent attitude towards all aspects of school. He shows the Scoresby HEART Value of Excellence when completing all tasks and sets an excellent example for his peers. Wonderful effort Aisy! Keep up the excellent work!

Ava S. - Physical Education

This award goes to Ava for her outstanding effort during our soccer unit. Ava demonstrated fantastic control and accuracy when dribbling and kicking the soccer ball in drills and games. She tried her best during our soccer clinic and impressed the coaches with her soccer skills! Wonderful work Ava!

Jackson G. - Visual Arts

This award goes to Jackson for his terrific collage that was inspired by the shortlisted Book Week book, ‘Jetty Jumping’. Jackson watched demonstrations attentively and worked independently to construct the child in his art. It really looks like the child is making a star jump whilst leaping from the jetty. Great work Jackson!

Joshua B. - Performing Arts

This award goes to Joshua to acknowledge his gifted musical ear. Joshua can tune instruments without using a tuner and can figure out melodies just by listening. It’s amazing, well done Joshua!  

DJ F. - Mandarin

This award acknowledges DJ for his effort in Mandarin class. We have been playing the game “Three in a Row” with family words. DJ has been working very hard writing the Mandarin words. Keep practising, DJ!
