Advance notice: Book Week

Please note in your calendar: Friday 25th August

We are very excited to be celebrating Children’s Book Week this year. Our Book Week Parade will be happening on Friday Week 5, the 25th August. 

8.15am - Coffee van will be available for parents to purchase hot drinks.

8.30am - Parents will move from classrooms to stand behind bunting, near the middle primary playground, to form a guard of honour for our parade.

8.45am – Book Week Parade begins moving through the school and outside areas.

Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. 

If students are dressing up, they must also have a copy of the book that their character appears in, or a copy of the front cover of the book will also be accepted.

Please note, we do not expect you to spend a lot of money on costumes. Get creative, using items that you may already have, or try your local op shop.

You can find some great simple ideas online at sites like Pinterest. Keep your eye out for other special Book Week events and activities in the weeks to come.

Advance notice: Pupil Free Day

A reminder that on Friday 8th September, the primary school will have a pupil free day (school closure). This day has historically been for families to attend the Royal Adelaide Show.

On this day our team will be completing a full day update of 1st Aid training.

Acknowledging school values

The students who were acknowledged by Mr. English at assembly this week, for a fantastic demonstration of the school values of Love, Optimism and Creativity were: Kai, Logan and Halle.

Welcome to Kristy

My name is Kristy Woolford and I am extremely excited to be stepping into the role as Receptionist / Administrative Assistant here at Good Shepherd Lutheran School! 

A little bit about me - I am a mother of two beautiful children, who are 8 and 2 years of age. I love to spend quality time with my family and I enjoy the outdoors. I have been working within the Medical field for the past 10 years and now feel it is time for an exciting change. I look forward to getting to know each of you and help support you and your children in every way I can!
