The last couple of weeks has seen some nicer weather as we come towards the end of winter and head into spring. Mornings are still cold but the days a little warmer and with kids taking off those extra layers at recess and lunchtime it is essential to ensure that clothing items are labelled and please chat with your kids about being responsible for their clothing items.

Year 4 Science Incursion

The team from Supreme Incursions paid a visit to the year 4's in preparation for Science Week and investigated a number of different areas. There were a plenty of highlights throughout the day.

Student Directed Clubs

Our students love organising clubs and activities during break times which compliment our staff directed clubs such as Tech Club, Sport Club, Libray Mindfulness Space, Footy Club, Kindness Club and Glee Club. Some highlights this week have included the Year 1 students Volcano Club and our Year 5 Shoe Shining Club.

Jack Classroom Visits

Jack has paid a visit to all of our year 5 classes this week to spend some time familiarising himself with the classrooms, the students and the environment. He has been supported off lead to move around the classroom and settle next to the students. The students have been invited to give Jack a pat below his collar area and not around his face. This learning allows Jack to understand that he will receive pats off students when he is calm (he is still in a puppy/teenage phase so does display high excitement at times). It is also important that when Jack visits classrooms that the students can continue to focus on their learning. This is a great step forward for Jack and his interactions with our school community. Jack has now had these experiences with our year 6, year 5 and year 4 students and we will next complete some sessions with our year 3's over the coming weeks.

Breakfast Clubbers of The Week

Our Breakfast Club has been growing in popularity for student visits as well as student helpers. Each fortnight we look forward to recognising the efforts of our helpers with the 'Breakfast Clubber of the Week'. A big thank you to Lydia Graham and Gill for the support of the program and the following students were our week 1 and 2 Breakfast Clubbers of the Week.

  • Week 4 - Sophie S - for working well under pressure and displaying the school values of Honesty, Achievement, Teamwork and Respect

2023 Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey:

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage those selected families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents / caregivers / guardians has been selected to participate in this year’s survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Survey results will be communicated to parents / caregivers / guardians through annual reporting and via our newsletter. Please speak to a member of the administration team if you would like more information.
