Student achievements
Congratulations to the following students:
Isabella Gebka (Year 11) and Madeline Stanton (Year 5), who have been selected as Tasmanian state finalists in the secondary and primary categories of the Nagle Education Alliance of Australia (NEAA) Nagle Prize 2023.
Open to students from NEAA member schools, this year's Nagle Prize invited students to craft a prayer that encapsulates the life and mission of Nano Nagle. Students could reference what it means to be a Presentation person, the order of Presentation sisters and how Nano's legacy is evident in their school community.
As state winners in their respective categories, Isabella and Madeline each received a book voucher, and their prayers will be used by the College and shared amongst the NEAA schools. Please have a read of their beautiful words below. Well done!
Sustainability Fair poster competition
To celebrate the official launch of the 2023 St Mary's College Sustainability Fair, and to encourage students to explore their thoughts on sustainability through their own lens, we recently launched a poster competition. Students from Kinder to Year 12 were invited to use their creative and artistic skills to design a poster to be used to advertise the fair in our school and wider community. Find out more about our Sustainability Fair in 'Latest news'.
Our Community Relations department and Phil Shanny, Murphy's Café Manager and Sustainability Officer, were inundated with amazing and colourful entries from budding young artists across all year groups! After much deliberation, we are delighted to announce the winners of the poster competition.
Congratulations to the following students:
