1B

By Angelique Gabriel

This Term, 1B learners have been investigating the Inquiry question, ‘How do we express ourselves?’ During Inquiry sessions, they have researched folktales from a range of different cultures and represented these using the following artforms: dance, drama and music. We even had a special incursion where we learnt about the instruments of West Africa, Polynesian dance moves and instruments, and how Aboriginal stories are told using art. This learning further supported the development of our dance piece for the whole school production. Already, we have investigated many important elements of self-expression, performing and being a respectful audience member. We are so excited to share our learning during the production, and transfer it again at the end of the term, where we will use an artform to express our learning of a folktale.
