Celebrating Airlie’s Remarkable Achievements at Virtus Global Games

We are thrilled to share Airlie's (Year 11) incredible swimming news from her participation in the prestigious Virtus Global Games in France, held in June. Airlie committed to a heavy program, participating in the 200m backstroke, 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke heats and progressed to the finals for all backstroke events. Proudly, she received a silver medal for the 200m backstroke. This success led to Airlie’s selection for the IM and freestyle relays, whereupon her teams won bronze and silver medals respectively.

For Airlie, her proudest moments were standing on the podium, receiving her medals alongside other winners, and in front of the Australian Swim team. 

The international competition brought together over 1000 high-level athletes from over 80 different countries and has whet her appetite to continue pursuing her dreams of competitive swimming. Her goal is to continue training to produce personal best times, affording her the opportunity to travel to Canberra in the September holidays and hopefully, be selected for the National Flippers Squad.  

We are so proud of you, Airlie for this exceptional achievement, and we wish you the very best as you continue to create waves and chase your dreams. 

Celebrating Maddi (Year 9) outstanding achievement in Water Polo 

Earlier this year, we celebrated Maddie's achievements in Water Polo when she competed at the 2023 Water Polo State Titles! 

She's now also recently been accepted in the Qld u14 Development Squad for Water Polo. She has been one of Rivercity Water Polo's standout performers all season in u14. We're so proud of you Maddi, keep up the amazing efforts!
