Adopting Chicks

Dear TCPS Community,

In STEM, we are currently learning all about ‘Living Things: Chicken Life Cycle’. It has been heart warming observing our students with the chicks and providing them with a hands on experience.

At the end of our unit, we will have 13 chicks that will need to be adopted out to TCPS homes. 

We are putting out an expression of interest to see if any TCPS families are interested in adopting our chicks and collecting them on Friday the 5th of August by the end of the school day. 

If you are interested you will need to purchase a ‘take home kit’ which costs $35 and read over the ‘Adopting Chicks’ fact sheet to make sure you are making an informed decision (see below).

Please be aware that once the chicks have been adopted out, TCPS will no longer be responsible for their welfare.

If we have an overwhelming response, the decision on who receives the chicks will be made randomly.
