Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

What an exciting week we have had at Trinity. It began on Monday with our Senior Soccer Team competing in the Division Finals. Whilst their earlier success at the Districts did not continue, we were still extremely proud of the team and the great effort they all made in preparing for the games and on the day. Perhaps next year we can make it a step further as there is plenty of talent and enthusiasm in our year 4s and 5s ready to take on the other schools.

On Tuesday the whole school celebrated the special feast day of St Ignatius with a walk to St Ignatius Church to celebrate mass with Fr Trung. As I said to the children and families who joined us, we are so lucky to have one of the most beautiful churches in Melbourne, if not Australia, as our very own. Fr Trung gave us a little history lesson and was impressed by how much our children already knew about St Ignatius. Of course the special little treat Fr Trung and Licia (Ms Marchese) provided after mass, made the visit even more memorable. After our visit to St Ignatius Church we stopped at the park for a fruit break and play before returning to school for a wonderful activities program provided by Kaboom. As you can see from the photo above the team at Kaboom enlisted the help of our very capable senior students to help run the show.

Welcome to Mrs Annie O'Donell

I hope by now many of you have had a chance to welcome Annie who is teaching 1/2AO (previously 1/2UR). I know she has really enjoyed her first week and is feeling happy to be a part of the Trinity School Community. I am sure that Annie will be very happy for any parents of students in her class to drop in after school for a chat so you can get to know her even better.

Prayer: At this busy time of the year lets us keep in mind what matters most.

Lord,

I feel so busy lately.

I pray you’ll help me remember what matters most

in the midst of all I have to do…

Give me eyes that see the needs of those around me.

Give me ears that hear the meaning behind the words.

Give me hands that reach out to make a difference.

Give me a heart that beats in tune with Yours

rather than with the clock on the wall.

Remind me often that time is intended

to be given not spent.

And even in the midst of all my business,

may I truly be about Your business.

Amen.
