Principal's Report

Dear Families,

Welcome to Term 2. Hopefully you had the opportunity to enjoy the lovely weather over the break. I have heard many happy stories about camping and time with family.

ANZAC DAY CEREMONY

On Tuesday, the community came together to commemorate ANZAC Day and show their respect for the people who have served and died in various conflicts. The service was organised by the Lion’s Club. Many of our past and current parents, who make up the Toolamba Choir, sang. Their performance added a very special touch to the service. Our School Captains read a poem by Ken Bunker, “A Tribute to ANZAC Day.” Later in the service our captains joined several community groups in laying a wreath.

The ANZAC Day service in Toolamba is a testament to the enduring spirit of our community.

HOT LUNCHES

In Term 2, we will be able to have a hot lunch on Friday. Food is to be wrapped in foil and be clearly labelled with your child’s name and grade. This will commence tomorrow, Friday 28th April.

BREAKFAST CLUB

Breakfast Club will return next Wednesday. If any parents are able to come along and assist that would be fantastic. Please complete the form in the Skool Loop app under the interview tile.

STAFFING UPDATE

Sadly, Mrs Sproule has informed us that she is moving to Horsham at the end of this term. Jayne has made the decision to move closer to family which we totally understand. She certainly will be a great loss to the Toolamba school community.

SCHOOL PHOTOS

Annual school photos including sibling photos will be taken by Arthur Reed Photos on Thursday 4th May 2023.

There is no need to return any forms or money to school.

Unique image codes will be issued to all students on/after photo day so families can register online to view images when they become available in the webshop.

Registration is simple, just follow the 3 simple steps on your child’s personalised flyer once you receive it and remember to add the codes for all your children attending this school.

Even if you registered last year, it’s important that you do again this year using your child’s 2023 image code to link their images for the current year with your contact details.

When images are ready to view and in the webshop, all parents who have registered will be notified by SMS and email.

Once registered, please wait for notification that 2023 images are online to view before making your purchase.

ei- PULSE FOR GRADE 3 -6

Toolamba P.S. has decided to use Educator Impact’s software, ei Pulse, at our school for Grade 3-6 students.

This software will enable us to take a weekly check of the wellbeing of our students and give them an opportunity to tell us if they would like any follow up supports from their mentor teacher, house leader or wellbeing team. This software is not designed to replace any of our current processes, but to add to them by making it easier for students to reflect on and monitor their moods, develop skills to regulate their emotions, and recognise when they might need to ask for help.

Parents of Grade 3 to 6 children will be asked via the Skool Loop to give consent for their child to participate in this initiative.

More information about Pulse can be found on Educator Impact’s website: https://www.educatorimpact.com/frameworks/student-pulse

VICTORIAN HIGH ABILITIES PROGRAM

Congratulations to the seven students who have been selected to participate in the Victorian High Ability Program.

SCHOOL REVIEW

This term, we have the second part of the School Review process. Currently we are completing a Pre-Review Self-Assessment. We will be sending out a Survey Monkey as we are keen to gain your feedback on our progress over the last 4 years, the relevance of our values and input into the direction for the next 4 years.
