Student Reports

What are the Kids Learning?
This term we are all studying earth science. The Prep – 2’s are learning about moon phases, how a star is formed, the structure of the earth, and the importance of the sun and sun facts.
The 3 – 6’s are learning about how the earth is formed, how the sun is formed and facts about the sun, layers of the earth, earth structure, and this week we looked at our solar system and it’s place in the milky way. The 3-6’s are also conducting their own research, this includes things such as how are black holes formed? How long ago was our solar system formed? How many solar systems are in the milky way? What are the layers of our solar system? How long does it take for each planet to orbit? How was the milk way formed? and is space infinite?
How are the Stick Insects?
Th stick insects have grown massively over the last few weeks. They started the width of your finger to the size of your hand. Te students have enjoyed getting out the insects and watching t hem crawl all over their arms. It’s hilarious when the stick insects start to look like leaves swinging in the wind, it looks like they’re dancing.
Help Feed the Pets
You can help feed the pets! Bring in some scraps (just no iceberg lettuce) such as broccoli and take it to Mrs Eckhardt. The pets (and Mrs Eckhardt) will love you for this!

Junior School Council Report

Throughout the year we have been getting ideas from not only our junior school council members but all Woori Yallock Primary School students. In the JSC meetings, we encourage students to share their ideas. Our main goal is to let them have a say into our school.
One of the things that has come out of our meetings is our new lunch time activities which are:
Dodgeball on Monday Prep – 2
Colouring Club on Tuesday
Dodgeball 3 – 6 on Wednesday
Footy Club at lunch on Thursday
Debate Club at recess on Friday and Writing Club at lunch on Friday

We are also talking about ideas for fundraisers to help the school and the community. If anyone in the school has ideas come to the Art room on Thursday at lunch to share your ideas.
