A message from

 the Principal

As we finish Term 1 I would like to thank the students of KHS who come to school everyday ready and willing to work. Please congratulate yourselves and reflect on what you have done well so far at school in 2023. Also, spend some time thinking about what you hope to achieve at school for the remainder of the 2023 school year.

The building works are really on a roll and I would like to thank all students for the way they have coped with the school being a construction site in many places. We hope to have some spaces ready for you to use again after the holidays.

Many students have been representing KHS in sports over the past few weeks and I would like to congratulate you all on the excellent way you have represented KHS.

Being a teenager is tough at the best of times, let alone after having had to cope with the worldwide pandemic since 2020.  Being a parent of a teenager is never easy, without even mentioning COVID19. Please read the following article to give both you and your child more understanding as to the most current research as to what everyone is going through as we slowly move away from the pandemic:

"What worries me is that rather than having an intense recovery phase in Australia we’ve had further crises, including marked increases in costs of living and natural disasters, all of which we know exacerbate mental health problems."

Professor Teesson, senior author and Director of the Matilda Centre

Moving on from COVID means facing its impact on mental health, say experts - The University of Sydney

Enjoy your Easter break and we will see all students return on Wednesday 26 April.
