Principal Report

Dear families,

I hope everyone had an amazing Easter break and the extended end to the holidays for our curriculum day and ANZAC day.

The teaching staff made use of the curriculum day to further enrich their knowledge of writing, building on their current understanding in their teams. As a school, we have embraced an approach to writing called the '7 steps to writing success'. The aim is to make our writing more thrilling and to push the students to be more willing to write. The approach unpacks 'sizzling starts', 'bans the boring', and offers 'exciting endings'. Ask your children if they are enjoying writing more, I am sure the answer will be YES.

The recent assembly was hosted by grade 56M and had an ANZAC focus where we heard a story called 'ANZAC Ted'. The students in the class read the story beautifully. Thank you 56M and Miss. Pepprell.

We have started the term with momentum again and have already hosted a school-wide cross country for all students with the rain holding out. Thanks Mrs. Layton.

We also had our 'Prep 2024 Information Night'. The prep team and support staff shared with prospective parents what is special about Rolling Hills. Thank you to Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Newton, Ms. Munnecke, and Mrs. Creed for organsing the night and sharing what makes prep so exciting. Thank you also to our school captains Lachie and Amber for sharing their thoughts on their seven years at school. I also would like to share a thank you to Mrs. Murcott, Mr. Taylor, and those in the background who supported the night.

If you have a sibling joining us in 2024 please can you let us know by completing an enrolment form. The spaces are filling up fast.

I would like to share a thank you to one of our parents Leigh Marriott for creating a planter around one of the trees at the front.

I would also like to share our thanks to the P&F team who have been in school organsing some amazing gifts for special mums, grandmas, and aunties for the upcoming 'Mother's Day Stall'

They have asked me to share the following...

"The P&F is seeking more volunteers to help sell items at this year's Mother's & Special Person's Day Stall. It is active and fast-paced, but it's LOADS of fun! We need helpers on Wednesday 10th May afternoon (quick half-hour set up), Thursday 11th May (two sessions), and Friday 12th May (second chance stall).

All money raised from the Stall will be going towards helping to pay for MORE grounds improvement projects around our school. We’d really love your support! "

As you can see from the new grassed area and the soon-to-be-installed playground shade sails .......we really are investing all of your efforts into the school grounds!

Best wishes,

Craig
