WORK EXPERIENCE

ABBEY BURNS

In the term 1 holidays I completed work experience at Country Way Early Learning. I chose work placement in a day care centre because I thought it would be an interesting area to work in, and I really enjoyed doing it and engaging with the kids. I would highly recommend completing work experience to other students as it is a great way to get an insight into the career you are thinking of pursuing. 

ELLA BYRA - SUNRAYSIA DAILY

For my work experience I was placed in the journalist department at Sunraysia Daily and I got to observe the process of the how the newspapers are put together and all the many stages involved. During my work experience I was expecting to learn more about how the journalists and editors play their part in the newspaper. I overall enjoyed my experience at Sunraysia Daily, it was interesting learning and seeing first hand how interviews play out and how they put it on paper, and I believe that anyone that hasn’t done work experience should give it a go.

Once I finish school I would love to go to Adelaide and complete a nursing degree specialised in paediatrics so I completed my work experience at the Mildura Private Hospital to get an insight of what working in a hospital would be like. It was good to observe all the different jobs being done to help the patients. I loved working in the hospital, and I recommend other students to do work experience at a hospital as well if they are interested in any jobs held in the hospital.
