Heath Mitchell, Year 4
Congratulations to Year 4 student, Heath Mitchell who has been accepted into the prestigious Charlesworth Ballet College. Heath has been dancing at the Charlesworth Ballet School since he was four years old after a friend asked him to come along to try a class. His dance teacher Miss Andrea ran a fun and engaging class which instilled in him a love of dancing. In 2018, Heath was given a part in the Western Australian Ballet's production of Dracula. Dracula was performed for a month of shows at His Majesty's Theatre in September 2018. This was a wonderful experience for Heath and gave him a big insight into life as a professional dancer.
The Charlesworth Ballet College is a dance school for children who demonstrate the potential to become professional dancers. Heath attends Prep A classes for approximately 8.5 hours a week and participates in classical ballet, contemporary and Spanish dancing (flamenco). Congratulations Heath!
Mia Collis, Year 7
Year 7 student, Mia Collis recently chopped off her long locks to donate them to Variety's Hair with Heart program. The donated hair is sent to specialised wig makers to make wigs for those who have lost their hair due to medical conditions such as alopecia. The wigs give those in need more confidence and better self-esteem so they can feel like themselves again. We commend Mia on her bravery and selflessness to support such a worthwhile cause. Well done Mia!
Jay Lander, Year 9
In previous editions of Wollaston's Wrap we have congratulated Year 9 student, Jay Lander for his outstanding achievements in the sport of BMX. Jay has recently been selected to race in the BMX World Championships in Texas later this year. To help get Jay to Texas, the Byford Country Club has chosen him as part of their 'Bottle Top Community Drop' campaign. For every main meal purchased at the Country Club during the month of February, patrons will be given a bottle top to place in one of three jars. The jar with the most bottle tops will win the $1000 grant. If you are looking for a nice place to enjoy a meal visit the Byford Country Club and drop a bottle top in Jay's jar. Good luck Jay!
