What have we been up to?

At After School Care we have been enjoying the lovely weather! Last week the children worked together to make sand volcanoes which we then used baking soda and vinegar to explode! The children had to experiment to find the perfect baking soda to vinegar ratio to make the best reaction.

At Before School Care, the OSHC-ies enjoyed playing with Play-Doh. Our children turned into sculptors as they created trees, animals, cookies, snowmen and more! We have also been putting our chef hats on, practicing real life literacy and numeracy skills as we follow recipes and use measurements to create the perfect pancake.

Our Kindergarten children have been enjoying some R&R time by reading to themselves and being read to. This time is not only building a love of reading, but is then giving them the energy to get outside and enjoy the bikes, water pump, mud kitchen and more!

Ooshies have also been a favourite “quiet time” activity with all of our OSHC-ies, giving them the opportunity to have some imaginative, independent play.

Student Led Conference Pupil Free Day

On the 17th of September, the school have a pupil free day due to Student Led Conferences. OSHC will be offering a full day of care from 8:00 am – 5:30 pm at a cost of $60.00 per child per day (rebates available). This cost includes activities, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

To secure your place, please complete and return the booking form to the front office by Thursday 12th September. Confirmations of bookings will be sent via email on September 13th.

Please note that we will need a minimum of 3 children booked for the day to be viable and go ahead.

Additionally, your child/ren must have an up to date 2019 enrolment pack with all relevant documents and medicine provided for your child to attend.

Spring Holiday Program

Our Spring Holiday Program will be operating from Monday 23rd September – Friday October 4th. We will be closed on the 27th of September due to the public holiday. We will be open from 8:00 am – 5:30 pm each day at a cost of $60.00 per child per day (rebates available). This cost includes activities, excursions, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

To secure your place, please complete and return the booking form to the front office by Monday September 16th. Forms are available from OSHC or the front office. Confirmations of bookings and additional information will be sent via email on Wednesday 18th September in the final week of school.

A program with intended activities has been displayed around the school. Please also feel free to email OSHC to get a copy.

Sun Smart in September

As of Monday 9th, all children must bring their school hats to OSHC to be worn during outside play. Children without hats will have to stay in the shade during outside play.

We will also begin to use sunscreen again soon. If your child is sensitive to generic sunscreen, please feel free to send a personal bottle along for your child to use. This can either be stored at OSHC or in your child’s bag. If you would not like your child to wear sunscreen at all, please provide a written note to be added to their files.

Please note that, like any allergy, a sunscreen allergy requires a medical management plan from your child’s doctor explaining what to do in case they come in contact with sunscreen. Medication listed on this plan will also need to be provided.
