SCSA Hockey

The SCSA hockey competition was held on Tuesday, 25th June. This was the first time that Killester had entered any teams into SCSA hockey. We entered a junior team (made up of students from Years 7-9) and a senior team (made up of students from Years 10-12).   The girls played against the following schools on Tuesday: Clonard, Ave Maria and St. Aloysius.

With only a handful of students having experience in playing competitive hockey, our teams did exceptionally well. We made two grand finals, and came away with two wins, with both the senior & junior teams winning the plaque.  We are so proud of our girls.  It is clear that the students at Killester have a great talent for hockey!  I think we can now call ourselves the Hockeyroos of the SCSA!

Congratulations to Annalise Karamanlis (junior) & Satwant Kaur (senior) who were both voted the most valuable players in their respective grand final matches. Well done girls; a great effort.

Thank you to all the staff who allowed us to take these girls out of some Period 4s so we could train with them as a team - we couldn't have done it without your support so thank you so much!   The girls had a great day.  Thanks you also to Peter Cherrington and James Blanchfield for their efforts with training and coaching throughout Term 2.
