Principal's Message

Dear parents and guardians,

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Simpson family on the recent passing of 5 yr old Montanah, niece to Rachael and Wade, cousin to Braydi, Jayda, Khye, Kohdie, Savannah and Juhkobi.  Montanah passed  away recently after a long battle with a brain tumour.  Please keep the family in your prayers.

Mrs Bridget O'Keefe, who is currently part of the 3/4 teaching team, will be taking up a position at Our Lady Star of the Sea, the new Catholic primary school in Cowes. This is a temporary transfer position from Term 4 2019 until the end of 2020.  This is a wonderful opportunity for Bridget as it allows her to use her outstanding educational skill set and strengthen her leadership skills in a new environment. We will miss her capable teaching and leading in our school but recognise how fortunate we are to have the depth of experience, skill and education in our leadership team.  The structure of the 3/4 teaching team for Term 4 will be announced in weeks to come.

School Fees:  A reminder that if you are not on a payment plan, or informed the school of your intentions, school fees should be paid in full at your earliest convenience please.

School fees should never cause financial distress to our families.   If your family situation has changed and you find that you are having difficulties in meeting your school fees commitment, please make an appointment with  Kate Dourley to discuss options on how to assist your family.

During term 3 we will be sending home the 2020 school fee schedule and paperwork that will need to be returned.

OPEN MORNING

Our school is on display during our Open Morning on Thursday, 1st August 9:00-10:00am.  Please call into the office via Ogilvy Street. If you know any families considering St Laurence's for preps 2020, please let them know and invite them to our Open Morning or alternatively an appointment can be made for a tour at a later date.

TRANSITION PROGRAM

The 2020 Prep Transition program will begin in Term 4.  We strongly believe in the importance of the 4 year old Kindergarten program and encourage families and students to enjoy this wonderful year of learning.  For this reason our Transition program runs in Term 4 when children are naturally beginning to prepare for the move to Primary School.

PRAYER

God, always loving,

you call us to be ready to follow Jesus your son,

and to be generous in his service.

Teach us to be fearless and faithful even in hard times.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen
