Uniform

We are very proud of our uniform and we think the children look fantastic when they are all in the correct uniform.

It is important that all students are wearing the correct uniform. Below you will find pictures that outline the correct uniform.

I have also included some FAQ and answers to guide you.

If your child is out of uniform, please inform their teacher of the reason why and endeavor to correct the issue as soon as possible.

On Thursday 13th June, we will be having a spot check on all our student's uniform and contacting parents if students are in the incorrect uniform and a reason has not be supplied.

Question: What is the Sport Uniform and when can it be worn?

Children in Years Prep to Grade 6 will need a sports uniform

Sports uniforms are worn on sports days or days when the student has Physical Education class or other special activities such as active (sports-based) excursions. Students can wear it all day and do not need to change in and out of it for the Physical Education session. It should not be worn on non-Physical Education days

Skorts are available, but are part of the Sports Uniform not the Academic Uniform

Sports uniforms should not be worn as part of the everyday uniform

Sports Shoes: Can be Velcro or lace up with non-marking (non-black) soles as we want to preserve our sports surfaces

Question: What are the guidelines around Shoes?

School shoes should be black

School shoes should be polishable and either lace ups, Mary-Jane/Velcro style

Runners can be worn on sports days or on days when the student has Physical Education class or other special (sporty) activities

Attendance

It is important that your child is at school every day. Attending and participating in school will help your child develop:

  • important skills and knowledge to help them learn
  • social and emotional skills such as good communication, resilience and team work.

If you child is away, it is a requirement that you let the school know the reason for this absence.  You can do this by reporting it on Compass (preferred), calling the school office or emailing/contacting the teacher.

School Staff  will follow up on any unexplained absences.

We are aiming for our students to have 95%+ attendance.

Swimming

Our school's swimming program will take place in Term 3.

Grade 456 - Week 9 - September 9th - September 13th

Grade Prep - Grade 3 - Week 10: September 16th - September 20th

The lessons will be 45 minutes in length and the children will attend everyday in that week.

The swimming program will run at MSAC by trained swimming instructors. There will 1 instructor to 6 children so the groups are kept small. The classroom teachers attend the swimming program to support the children.

Swimming is an important skill and part of our P.E and Health curriculum.

The cost for the week's lessons to parents will be around $60.

More information to follow early in Term 3.

Noise Meter

You may have noticed a new display/screen at the bottom of our Community Steps on the Ground Floor. This is a decibel meter and it measures noise in the environment. This is to continually monitor environmental noise to support teaching and learning .  A happy environment should be between 50 and 70.
