Prep A Hi, I’m Sophie and this is my second year at South Melbourne Primary School. I am originally from Essex in the UK where I taught for a few years before moving to Melbourne in 2016. I now live just outside of the city with my partner, Sam, and our border collie, Maverick. We are recently engaged and are set to get married in the UK in July 2020. Alongside work, I’m a bit of a foodie and have enjoyed eating my way through Melbourne’s many wonderful brunch spots. I also love to keep active and devote a lot of my spare time to running or venturing out on long walks with friends. I look forward to another great year and am excited to meet the new families who are joining our school community in 2020.

Prep B Hi, I am Cayleigh and this is my first year teaching at South Melbourne Primary. I have heard wonderful things about this school and the warm and welcoming school community. I am very excited for the year ahead. I have always loved working with children, supporting them and learning from their unique perspectives. I am passionate about social justice and have volunteered with some incredible communities and individuals. This has taken me to some amazing countries like Rwanda and the Cook Islands. I love the outdoors, you can often find me on a hike in the forest or camping by a beach. I can’t wait to immerse myself in this incredible community and become part of the SMPS family!

Prep C Hello South Melbourne PS Families, My name is Jessica Hobbs and I have been teaching for 4 years. A passion of mine is animals. I have three pets at home. I have my dog Cludo, my cat Pud and my bird Rafa. They all have their own interesting personalities and I love to be around them when I go home for the weekends. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing you next year.

Prep D Hi everyone, my name is Nadeeka Pussalle and I am excited to be a part of the SMPS for a second year. My favourite part about being a teacher is learning new things with the students every day. I love teaching reading and watching the wonder, laughter and joy on the students faces when reading a great book. On the weekends I enjoy reading, hiking and being outdoors. Recently I travelled to Nepal and hiked to Mt Everest Base Camp, where I saw some of the most beautiful, rugged terrain. Recently I moved into my own home and have been learning the challenging task of caring for my house plants.

Prep E Hi, I’m Makayla and I cannot wait to join the South Melbourne Primary School community in 2020 and start my teaching journey. Away from the classroom I thoroughly enjoy keeping fit and active. I struggle to sit still and am always down for a game of sport whether that is football or soccer, but I love playing netball. If I am not running around playing sport, I am most likely enjoying some quality time with family. I cannot wait for 2020 at SMPS and I am excited to meet everyone in the SMPS community.
