Staff resume on Tuesday 28 January. All staff will be participating in Professional Development on this day and will be unavailable. Teaching staff are also engaged in Professional Development on Wednesday 29 January and will be unavailable.
The School/Office will reopen on Wednesday 29 January should families need to speak with Office/Admin Staff. Given the enormous amount of interest and enrolment requests received over the Summer Break we appreciate our Community's patience and understanding during this extremely busy time.
Sunsmart - No Hat, No Play
The Victorian sun is particularly damaging all year around. Please ensure your child brings their hat to school each day. We recommend applying sunscreen before school each day. Students may also bring sunscreen (SPF 50) to apply themselves.
Please Note: Students must be able to apply sunscreen independently. Please practise at home so that your child is confident to do so.
If your child does not bring their hat, they will be required to stay indoors/shaded areas only.
Eating at School
Students have two eating breaks during the school day. All food is to be consumed indoors under the supervision of teachers and support staff. All food is to be provided from home (unless ordered from Renata Catering lunch order service). Families are encouraged to provide healthy foods and drink (water) that children can access and eat independently.
As part of our sustainability efforts, families are encouraged to provide 'nude food' snacks and lunches to reduce the amount of waste created and consumed onsite. Nude food contains no packaging and excess waste. All waste, including packaging, gladwrap, will be returned home with the student. Organic waste will be disposed of at school to contribute to our worm farms and compost efforts.
Label all Clothes and Belongings
We strongly encourage families to ensure that all items of clothing and belongings are clearly labelled with your child's full name (first name and surname). We collect a large amount of lost property at school. If your child's name is labeled that likelihood of it being returned is very high. If not, then it can be near impossible to return lost hats, jumpers, lunchboxes etc to the rightful owner.
