We pray for our Year 12’s…
God, we ask that they especially feel your closeness during the HSC.
Holy Spirit send them your gifts of wisdom and knowledge.
Give our students calm hearts and quiet confidence in the knowledge
that you hold them in the palm of your hand
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

What is the Festival?
The Australian Catholic Youth Festival is a national gathering of Catholic young people established by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. It exists to provide young people with opportunities to deepen their relationship with Jesus and be empowered to be disciples in the world today. Past students have returned with acquired leadership skills, an increased confidence and a strengthened faith.
Who is the Festival for?
Young adults 15-25 years of age are invited to the event. The Festival is aiming to gather over 3000 young people from around Australia.
When and where will the Festival be?
The Festival will take place from Thursday December 3rd until Saturday December 5th, 2015 and will be held in Adelaide.
Theme
The Australian Catholic Youth Festival’s theme is - ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.’ Matthew 5:8. This theme is provided by Pope Francis as the theme for the World Youth Day pilgrimage to Krakow in 2016.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Mt 5: 8)
How do students register their interest in attending the Festival?
The ‘Expression of Interest’ google form was submitted by email to all Year 10 and Year 11 students. Applications are due Friday, 16th October, 2015. The College is committed to subsidising the cost of the Festival, however, participants will be asked to contribute an amount to offset this cost.
This Week’s Gospel
The Son of Man came to give his life as a ransom for all. (Mk 10: 35-45)
Jesus’ life was a ransom. That means it freed people. In what ways could you be a ransom, that is, an offer of freedom, for people who are held hostage to fear, loneliness, or despair?
